COLOR

Everytime I leave my house I am surrounded by all of my favorite shades, the colors are all so amazing. I love them. When I get close up they are so different than what they first appear to be. Take these for example, the humble Sumac, they appeared to be bright red from my car but when I walked over and really looked they were so much more!

Early September Morn

It sure feels different than it did a month ago when I was still trying to hold onto summer. I can hold on no longer. I am too cold. The nights have been cold and the days in the 60's. I have pulled out my long pants and my socks and even a sweater. The flannel sheets and the wool blankets are out to stay for the duration. I don't really mind though, I like fall. September is one of my favorite months. It is just that time passes SO quickly that it doesn't seem like it should be getting cold yet. We will probably warm up here and there and I will have to throw off the wool blanket, but for the most part the coolness is here to stay.

I think I need to start in on the knitting again.

Introducing...

I thought I would share with all of you an interesting new blog that my fine, strange young son has created. L has a creative mind that is pretty far off the beaten track of the average 11 year old. His mind works in mysterious ways. He has begged for a website and I finally caved in and let him have this blog. It seems that making stop-frame lego animations and his own Mini Magazine it just not enough! http://drinkblot.blogspot.com So go and check it out and don't forget to vote!

September Scene #1

The sun has set. I took this shot on the way home from the community supper at school.
I am going to do a series of photos that represent what is becoming my favorite month here in Maine. There is a bit of summer left but also a taste of fall that is noticable as the dark seems to come so early and the temperature is getting quite cold overnight. The colors are different than July and August, change is in the air!

Hula Dance By The Pond

This speaks for itself, don't you think?
